Grants from an annual fund of $10,000 are available.

Description:

The fund is to support research students at Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury to present papers at coastal and/or ocean conferences, normally those in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.

Value/Benefits: Grants from an annual fund of $10,000 are available. Grants do not normally exceed the following values:
a. For conferences in Aotearoa New Zealand: $1,000
b. For conferences in Australia: $1,500
c. For conferences in other countries: $3,000

Level of Study: Postgraduate research

Number Available Annually: Varies

Applicable Enrolment: Applicants must be students engaged in a research programme at the University in Pūhanga Metarahi me te Rawa Taiao | Department of Civil and Natural Resources Engineering or in Mātai Matawhenua | Geography. Applicants must be intending to present a paper at a coastal and/or ocean conference.

Citizenship/Residency Requirements: Not applicable

Applications close on 31 March, and, if the available funds have not been fully allocated in the March round, on 30 September.


Additional Information:

The Organising Committee of the 1985 Australasian Conference on Coastal and Ocean Engineering, held in Ōtautahi Christchurch, established the award in 1987.
