$21,000 per annum + domestic tuition fees + Student Services Levy

Description:

This scholarship supports PhD students whose study is facilitated through the Ngāi Tahu Centre at the University of Canterbury. 

Value/Benefits: The scholarship provides the following:
a. a monetary award to a value of $21,000 per 120 points of thesis enrolment
b. Tuition fees for thesis enrolment only, at the New Zealand domestic rate
c. Student Services Levy for the term of the scholarship

Level of Study: Doctoral

Closing Date: 11:59 pm (NZT) 31 October

Tenure: The scholarship is tenable for the period necessary for a student to complete up to 360 points of enrolment.

Number available annually: 
The University of Canterbury makes available up to three scholarships annually. Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu makes available up to two scholarships every third year.

Applicable enrolment during tenure: 
For a research doctoral degree programme that is facilitated by the Ngāi Tahu Centre. Recipients may be studying any discipline at the University, but preference will be given to applicants whose projects promote mātauranga Māori and that are linked to the mission and current research foci of the Ngāi Tahu Centre.

Citizenship/residency requirements:
There are no citizenship or resident requirements for this scholarship.
