Brief Description:

The scholarship is to assist and encourage Engineering students at the University of Canterbury towards a career in the engineering profession.

Value: The scholarship provides the following:

a. assistance with tuition fees up to a value of $6,000.

b. On the recipient’s completion of a BE(Hons) degree programme and if a suitable position is available, the recipient is offered a continuing employment contract with Jacobs New Zealand Ltd. The contract includes a signing bonus of $1,000.
c. A recipient must complete a ten-week period of vacation employment with Jacobs Engineering Group Inc., paid at market rates and creditable to ENGR 200 Engineering Work Experience, during the months of November to February at the end of the year of tenure and/or during another agreed period, if such a position is available.

Closing Date: 11:59 pm (NZT) 31 March (Applications open approximately 8 weeks before this date)

Tenure: One year

Number available annually: Up to ten, nationally

Applicable enrolment during tenure: Applicants must be enrolled full-time at the University in the Third Year of a programme for a Bachelor of Engineering Honours (BE(Hons)) degree.

Citizenship/residency requirements: Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or holders of New Zealand residence class visas.
