Brief Description:

The core focus of the Kelliher Economics Foundation (KEF) is to support the intellectual development of postgraduate students in the field of Economics and to advance research capacity in Economics in New Zealand. This scholarship aims to support this focus by providing assistance to students starting their postgraduate research studies in Economics at Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury.

Level of Study: Postgraduate

Closing Date:
  • 11:59 pm (NZT) 30 November for those planning on commencing a postgraduate research degree, Honours or Master’s, in Economics in Semester 1; (Applications open approximately 8 weeks before this date).

and (if the scholarship has not been awarded in the 30 November round)

  • 11:59 pm (NZT) 31 March for those planning on commencing their research Master’s studies in Economics in Semester 2; (Applications open approximately 8 weeks before this date).

Tenure: Up to 240 points of enrolment.

Number Available Annually: One

Applicable Enrolment During Tenure: Full-time enrolment in a relevant Honours or Master’s programme majoring in Economics at Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury. 

Citizenship/Residency Requirements: Applicants must be citizens of New Zealand or holders of New Zealand residence class visas.
