UC College of Engineering Mathematics and Statistics STAR Scholarships
Award Amount
$5,000 per annum for up to three years

Description:

This scholarship recognises outstanding performance in MATH 199, the University's School of Mathematics and Statistics' STAR course, and supports students majoring in Mathematics, Statistics, Computational and Applied Mathematical Sciences, Data Science, Applied Data Science, or Financial Engineering at the University.

Value/Benefits:
a. Financial assistance with the costs associated with university study, at a value of $5,000 per annum for up to three years

Level of Study: School Leaver (First year undergraduate)

Closing Date: 11:59 pm (NZT) 1 November (Applications open approximately 8 weeks before this date)

Tenure: Up to three years

Number Available Annually: Three

Applicable Enrolment During Tenure: Full-time enrolment including at least 60 points per academic year of taught courses that contribute to a degree programme with a major in:
• Applied Data Science; or
• Computational and Applied Mathematical Sciences; or
• Data Science; or
• Financial Engineering; or
• Mathematics; or
• Statistics

Citizenship/Residency Requirements: Not applicable

Special Requirements: Applicants must be enrolled in the STAR course offered by the School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University (MATH 199)

Selection will be based on:
  1. achievement in MATH 199; and
  2. evidence of leadership potential.


Additional Information:

This scholarship is not co-tenable with the AIMS Scholarship.
