The purpose of this scholarship is to recognise and support high-achieving students entering their first year of the Bachelor of Forestry Science (BForSc) degree programme at the University of Canterbury.

Value/Benefits: Financial assistance at a value of $2,000

Level of Study: Incoming First-Year Undergraduate

Closing Date: 11:59 pm (NZT) 15 August (Applications open approximately 8 weeks before this date)

Tenure: One year

Number Available Annually: Up to five, with one of the scholarships being reserved for a Māori or Pasifika student

Applicable Enrolment During Tenure: The scholarship is tenable during full-time enrolment in a Bachelor of Forestry Science (BForSc) degree programme at the University of Canterbury

Citizenship/Residency Requirements: Not applicable

Special Requirements: Must be completing/have completed a university entrance qualification at secondary level in New Zealand in the year of application (or, in the case of a gap year, in the year immediately prior). International students who meet these requirements are eligible to apply

Application Information:

Selection will be based on:
  1. academic achievement, as indicated by quality of achievement at NCEA, or equivalent university entrance qualification; and
  2. demonstrated commitment to, and interest in, the Bachelor of Forestry Science (BForSc) degree programme.


Special Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must have completed, or be completing, a university entrance qualification, and must have studied at secondary level in New Zealand in the year of application (or, in the case of a gap year, in the year immediately prior). International students who meet these requirements are eligible to apply.
