Brief Description:

The purpose of this scholarship is to award engineering students attending the University of Canterbury, particularly international engineering students, who are considered likely in their future lives to promote and foster racial tolerance, co-operation, and understanding.

Value/Benefits: Financial assistance at a value of $2,500

Level of Study: Undergraduate

Closing Date: 31 March (Applications open approximately 8 weeks before this date)

Tenure: One year

Number Available Annually: At least One

Applicable Enrolment During Tenure: Full-time students of Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury who are enrolled in the Second, Third or Fourth Year of a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours (BE(Hons)) degree.

Citizenship/Residency Requirements: Not applicable

Special Eligibility Requirements:

The scholarship may be held only by full-time students of the University of Canterbury who have completed, or been exempted from, the Engineering Intermediate examination, and are taking subjects of the Professional courses, leading to a degree of Bachelor of Engineering with Honours.

The holder of the scholarship, and previous holders, may apply for the award in subsequent years.

Applicants will be considered based on whether they are "likely in their future lives to promote and foster racial tolerance, co-operation, and understanding."
