Additional Information:
This scholarship was established in 2012. Its establishment was initiated by LPC director Dr Rod Carr and his wife, Mrs Jenny Carr, in recognition of the commitment of the port workers to maintain port operations after the seismic events that had begun September 2010. A commitment from membership of the LPC’s Board of Directors to also personally contribute to the scholarship’s fund, along with a decision by the LPC to match directors’ contributions, allowed for the establishment of an on-going scholarship.
