The scholarship supports students for study towards a research master’s degree or a PhD degree focussing on Pure Mathematics at Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury.

Applicable Enrolment During Tenure: Full-time enrolment in a programme for Part II of a research master’s degree or PhD in Mathematics with a focus on Pure Mathematics.

Applications are not accepted from candidates who already hold a research doctoral degree.


Special Eligibility Requirements:

At the time of application, the applicant must be enrolled in a relevant programme of study.


Additional Information:

The scholarship was established in 2018 from a bequest by Roger Helm (1947–2015), who graduated in 1971 from the University with a BSc(Hons) in Mathematics.
