Brief Description:
This scholarship recognises the value of Pacific students in Te Kaupeka Ako Faculty of Education at Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury, and aims to support those who are entering tertiary study for the first time.

The scholarship is tenable during full-time enrolment, in both Semester One and Semester Two, in a first year of an undergraduate degree programme in Te Kaupeka Ako | Faculty of Education
Citizenship/Residency Requirements:
Must be a citizen of Aotearoa New Zealand or hold an Aotearoa New Zealand residence class visa

Application Information:
Applicants may be required to attend an interview.
Selection will be based on:
goals in relation to study, and career aspirations, and how the scholarship will assist with these;
participation, contribution, and/or leadership within the applicant's family and/or Pacific community;
engagement and/or interest in one or more Pacific cultures and/or languages; and
academic achievement.
Special Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants must:
be
Pacific
have studied at secondary level in Aotearoa New Zealand, or overseas at Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu
NOT have been enrolled in a degree programme at any tertiary institute.*
*Participation in STAR courses, community education courses offered by tertiary institutions, orientation or general interest programmes run by tertiary institutions for secondary school students does not preclude eligibility for this award.
Additional Information:
Te Kaupeka Ako | Faculty of Education established the scholarship in 2022 to partly replace the UC College of Education, Health, and Human Development Pacific/Pasifika Scholarship.
