New Zealand Steel Sir John Ingram Scholarship

Domestic tuition fees up to $3,000 per annum + $1,000 + paid internship

Description:

The purpose of this scholarship is to recognise and support promising female Engineering students at the University of Canterbury.

Value/Benefits: The value of this prize consists of the following:
a. Tuition fees support to a value of $3,000 per annum.
b. A single stipend of $1,000
c. An offer of a paid internship with New Zealand Steel that would assist the recipient with completing practical work requirements for the BE(HONS) degree. If an offer is accepted, the internship would be held over the summer at the end of the first year of tenure of the scholarship. A second paid summer internship, to be held at the end of the second year of tenure, may also be offered.

Undergraduate

Closing Date: 11:59 pm (NZT) 31 March (Applications open approximately 8 weeks before this date)

Tenure: The scholarship is tenable for up to 360 points of enrolment

Number available annually: One

Applicable enrolment during tenure: BE(Hons), First Professional Year, with specialisation in one of the following:
• Chemical and Process Engineering
• Electrical and Electronic Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Mechatronics Engineering

Special requirements: Applicants must be female, and citizens of New Zealand or holders of New Zealand residence class visas.
