The scholarship recognises academic achievement of students who have completed a first year of study towards a BCom, and supports study in such a programme at Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury for a second year.

Number available annually:
Six, of which two are reserved students with whakapapa Māori, and one is reserved for a Pacific/Pasifika student.
Applicable enrolment during tenure:
Full-time enrolment in the second year of a programme for a BCom that includes at least 60 points from the BCom schedule.
Citizenship/residency requirements:
Applicants must be Aotearoa New Zealand citizens or holders of Aotearoa New Zealand residence class visas.

Additional Information:
Te Kura Umanga | UC Business School established the scholarship in 2022. It partly replaces the UC College of Business and Law Second Year Award for Excellence.
