This scholarship supports research on the environment by students studying at the University of Canterbury for a Master's or PhD degree. It is offered every two years.

Applicable enrolment during tenure:
Full-time enrolment in a Master’s or PhD degree in Science on a topic relating to the environment. Eligible areas of study include those focused on conservation, ecological or environmental enhancement research that supports the preservation, amelioration and/or deeper knowledge of New Zealand native flora and fauna species in the natural habitat, as it relates to the wider picture of a healthy biodiversity within New Zealand. Study that incorporates natural solutions to the urban environment is also eligible. Typically these studies will be undertaken in the subject areas of Environmental Sciences, Geography and/or Biological Sciences (in particular Conservation and Ecology), though any subject area in Science that meets the topic focus criteria will be considered.
