The scholarship is to promote MForSc and PhD studies in Te Kura Ngahere | School of Forestry at Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury.

Level of Study during Tenure: Master's; Doctoral

Closing Date: 11:59 pm (NZT) 1 November (Applications open approximately 8 weeks before this date.)

Tenure: 120 points of enrolment by MForSc students and 240 points of enrolment by PhD students. The selection committee may recommend offering an extension of tenure beyond 120 points / 240 points of enrolment, up to a maximum of 120 additional points.

Additional Information:

The funds for this scholarship are provided by the income from a bequest of land made to Canterbury College by TW Adams (1842−1919) for the purpose of assisting Forestry studies. Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury awarded the first scholarships in 1975. A biography of Mr Adams can be found in the Dictionary of New Zealand Biography.
