$1,500 per annum for up to two years

Description:

The purpose of this scholarship is to recognise and support high achievers entering their first year of a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (BE(Hons)) degree programme at the University of Canterbury.

Value/Benefits:
a. Financial assistance with the costs associated with university study, at a value of $1,500 per annum for two years

Level of Study: School Leaver (First year undergraduate)

Closing Date: 11:59 pm (NZT) 15 August (Applications open approximately 8 weeks before this date)

Tenure: Two years

Number Available Annually: Up to thirty

Applicable Enrolment During Tenure: Full-time enrolment in a Bachelor of Engineering Honours (BE(Hons)) degree programme at the University of Canterbury

Citizenship/Residency Requirements: Not applicable

Special Requirements: Must be completing/have completed a university entrance qualification at secondary level in New Zealand in the year of application (or, in the case of a gap year, in the year immediately prior). International students who meet these requirements are eligible to apply

Special Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must have completed, or be completing, a university entrance qualification, and must have studied at secondary level in New Zealand in the year of application (or, in the case of a gap year, in the year immediately prior). International students who meet these requirements are eligible to apply.

Selection will be based on:
  1. academic achievement, as indicated by quality of achievement at NCEA Levels 2 and 3, or equivalent university entrance qualification; and
  2. demonstrated commitment to, or interest in, the BE(Hons) degree programme.

Miscellaneous:

UC Engineering High Achievers Award and the UC Engineering Top Scholars Award were replaced in April 2021 with the UC Top Achievers Scholarship
