Description:



This scholarship encourages and supports students at Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury to undertake a career in the three waters, public health, or environmental areas of engineering.

Value/Benefits:

a. Tuition fees support up to a value of $10,000
b. Provided a suitable position is available, Stantec New Zealand may offer the recipient paid employment during the summer at the end of the year of tenure.

Level of Study: Undergraduate

Closing Date: 11:59 pm (NZT) 31 March (Applications open approximately 8 weeks before this date.)

Tenure: One year

Number Available Annually: One

Applicable Enrolment During Tenure: Full-time enrolment in Third Year of a programme for a BE(Hons) degree in Civil or Natural Resources Engineering

Citizenship/Residency Requirements: Applicants must be citizens of Aotearoa New Zealand or holders of Aotearoa New Zealand residence class visas.

Additional Information:

Stantec established the scholarship in 2019 in honour of one of its long-standing employees, Jim Bradley. Jim, a UC graduate, has worked in the industry for more than 50 years in the field of civil engineering, specialising in three waters, public health, and environmental matters. In establishing this scholarship, Stantec wished to support students with an interest in these areas. Stantec designs with community in mind and serves Aotearoa New Zealand from 15 offices around the country, delivering people-focussed initiatives – including water, energy, transportation, and community development projects.
