UC Matariki Doctoral Scholarship 2023

$28,000 per annum + domestic tuition fees

Description:

This scholarship supports ākonga Māori for study towards a research doctoral degree at Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury. Candidates who have been selected for a UC Core Doctoral Scholarship are automatically considered for the UC Matariki Doctoral Scholarship; no application is required.

Value/Benefits:
a. Financial assistance at a value of $28,000 per 120 points of thesis enrolment.
b. Tuition fees for thesis enrolment only, at the Aotearoa New Zealand domestic rate.
c. Admission to Te Punenga programme offered through Te Waka Pākākano | Office of Māori, Pacific, and Equity and the Māori Student Development Team.

Level of Study:  Postgraduate; Doctoral

Closing Date: Not applicable

Tenure: The scholarship is are tenable for the period necessary to complete up to 360 points of enrolment.

Number Available Annually: Five scholarships are available annually, and, in general, no more than one award is made to each of the University’s academic divisions.

Applicable Enrolment During Tenure: The scholarship is tenable by full-time and part-time students engaged in study for a research doctoral degree at the University.

Citizenship/Residency Requirements: Candidates must have whakapapa Māori.
