UC Doctoral Scholarship for Students with Disabilities
Award Amount
$32,650 per annum + tuition fees at the domestic rate
Brief Description:
This scholarship supports students of high academic achievement who have a significant disability, for study towards a research doctoral degree at Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury.
Value/Benefits:
The scholarship provides financial assistance at a value determined by funds available and stated in the offer of the award. This typically may include a stipend and/or tuition fee payments.

- for students planning to start before 1 June; opens 20 March, closes 15 May.

- for students planning to start after 1st July; opens 20 August, closes 15 October.

Up to 480 points of enrolment

The scholarship is tenable by students engaged in study for a research doctoral degree.

Special Requirements:
Applicants must have a disability that significantly impairs their ability to study. Applicants must submit evidence regarding the degree of disability and the extent to which it impairs their ability to study.
Selection is based equally on the following:
(a) the degree of severity of the disability and the extent to which it impairs the applicant's ability to carry out his or her course of study; and
(b) (1) Research capability of the candidate; (2) Project quality; (3) Project fit with institutional strategic priorities; and (4) Recommendation of the Department/School (or delegate).
